I'm enjoying painting steam trains at the moment.  This time I thought I would make a 2" x 2.5" miniature of one in acrylic.

Waiting at Pickering station

Working through a new piece

Quick sketched ideas :

This is how I usually work with random ideas, until I get something I can use for a final piece.  On this occasion I thought about using a robot and a girl sitting by a river bank...

For a background I decided to use the ongoing current theme I'm using which is an industrial setting.

The final touch was to incorporate a rainbow flowing from the chimney instead of smoke.  After all the theme is mainly fantasy.

Breaking away
